One Day Late W7D1
I took an extra off day to let my still somewhat inflamed knee settle down a bit. I think the new running shoes help but the minor damage has already been done so it will probably take a bit of time to get back to normal. I gave in and went to see a physiotherapist today, and he said I have a bit of a stretched MCL and some inflanation in the miniscus as well. He advised that I take a bit more time stretching and that the tightness in the hamstrings etc. is probably the main cause for the pulling on the MCL.

Anyway, I did the W7D1 run today and pretty much got through it. The pain was there but not too bad.  The leg felt pretty wobbly when I finished though.

So, I think I can keep going with the plan, and I'll also be doing the extra stretches on everyday including the off days.

I'm hoping all is still going well for my fellow C25Kers.

Nice work! Week 7 was so hard on me, but it seems you're doing much better even with your injury.

Thanks Daisy. Well the knee is really bothering me right now. Maye trying to run on it wasn't the greatest idea. The physio said to go ahead and give it a try, but even walking is hard right now, 12 hours later.

Ouch yeah, some rest is probably an order. Did he tell you anything about ice? Icepack helped my knee, but I guess it depends on the type on injury. I hope it feels better soon!

I swear by ibuprofen gel. Of course, it's not going to make your leg better, but it will help a lot with the pain and you can apply it directly to the sore area.

Keep the faith, Batman. It's better to take a couple of extra days off now than 2 weeks later.
